Actor’s wife files for divorce

California movie fans may be familiar with actor James Marsden from his roles in the “X-Men” movies and the movie-musical “Hairspray.” He is also the voice of Fred in the animated motion picture “Hop.” Now the actor is gaining attention for his divorce. Marsden’s wife, Lisa Linde, cited irreconcilable differences in her Sept. 23 divorce filing. The couple has been married for 11 years and has two children together.

A representative for Marsden said that the couple’s decision to divorce was a mutual one and that they remain friends. According to court documents, Linde is seeking spousal support as well as joint physical and legal custody of the couple’s son and daughter. Marsden’s representative says the pair are committed to raising their kids together.

Although the monetary stakes could be higher than most in this case, in any divorce it’s important to ensure that child support payments are calculated correctly and are fair to all involved parties. Hiring an attorney who has extensive experience in child support and child custody issues can be of great benefit to California residents who are going through a divorce where children are involved. Especially if their divorce is a friendly one, as Marsden and Linde’s seems to be, hiring an attorney with this specific experience could increase the chances of successful negotiations taking place and therefore eliminating the need for a costly and stressful trial.

As evidenced here, child support and custody issues can come into play even in celebrity divorces, and both Marsden and Linde likely have retained experienced child custody and child support attorneys to ensure that the most equitable outcome will be reached.
