Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck may put divorce off for the kids

On Behalf of Cullen Family Law Group | Jul 14, 2016 | Child Custody |

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were rumored to be on the verge of divorce a year ago. They had split up and there was talk of infidelity that was tearing the marriage apart. Garner had even said that they would be getting divorced soon.

However, the two have not yet put in their divorce papers in California, and it now appears that they may actually stay together — or at least put the divorce off for a while longer.

The couple had been together for over a decade, and married for 10 years, before the divorce announcement in the summer of 2015. Even when they made those announcements, though, they did try to create a stable living situation for their kids. They kept living in the same house so that the kids didn’t have to be split up, didn’t have to be ferried back and forth between the parents’ homes, and generally were insulated from the issues within the marriage.

The two still live together today, in a home in Los Angeles that is worth $17.5 million. Garner is so dedicated to being with the kids that she reportedly sleeps in the same room as her daughter every night that she’s home. Those close to her have said that her entire focus has been on making this work for the kids.

It has been shown in many studies that children are best off when they have two parents who are involved in their lives. This doesn’t mean that couples can’t get divorced, but it does indicate that those who do may be wise to focus on a child custody plan that keeps both parents around the kids on a regular basis.
